Recommendations for visiting Kraków

Well, where to start with recommendations for visiting Krakow?  There is so much to do here, you can easily fill a long weekend and even a week is easy enough to keep busy.

I guess it’s easier to start at the beginning, the airport! You just arrived in the country and finally got through passport control and collected your luggage.  Now what? Head outside of course.  Just outside the front of the newly renovated John Paul II International Airport Krakow-Balice, you will find a taxi rank, a multi-storey car park and a bus stop and your choice here is dependant on your budget. There is also a new hotel if you are really that tired and just want to sleep.

If you want the cheapest way to the city centre, take a train from the station which is just behind the multi-storey car park.  You can buy tickets from the machines, or online here.  You will need to look for the stations below;

The train costs 8 Polish Zloty (1.9EUR or 1.6GBP) each way.  It takes about 20-30 minutes to the city centre.

You can also hire a car from all the major companies within the airport terminal, or take a taxi.  Both will obviously cost much more, but car hire gives more freedom.  I can’t honestly think of a good reason to take a taxi at around 100zl/23EUR/20GBP.

Hopefully you will already have booked a hotel before you left, but if not I highly recommend for the biggest and best priced selection in Poland

(function(d, sc, u) {
var s = d.createElement(sc), p = d.getElementsByTagName(sc)[0];
s.type = ‘text/javascript’;
s.async = true;
s.src = u + ‘?v=’ + (+new Date());
})(document, ‘script’, ‘//’);

The attractions in Krakow will be totally dependant on what you want to do, but I’d really recommend the following as the most popular;

Thanks for checking out my blog and I hope that it will in some small way, inspire you to visit Krakow & Poland
